Dr Anthony Morice has been working with the region’s homeless and vulnerable people with the Wheels of Wellness program for more than 12 months.
Dr Morice emigrated from the United States in 2007 and has been living in Cairns since 2008. He graduated with his Doctor of Medicine degree in 1993 from the University of Arizona and obtained his Specialist in Family Medicine qualifications through the American Board of Family Medicine in 1996.
He later obtained qualifications as a HIV medicine specialist from the American Academy of HIV Medicine and practiced in the field for 12 years before moving to Australia. He is an S100 prescriber for HIV medications in Queensland.
Dr Morice is a well-respected GP within the Cairns LGBTQ community and has a specialty interest in blood-borne disease.
The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners granted Dr Morice his Australian qualification after emigrating and he continues to practice family medicine in Cairns. He also enjoys his work in adult medicine and palliative care.
Dr Morice speaks Spanish and is happy to consult with members of the community who are also Spanish speakers.
Dr Morice will also be our regular Saturday doctor.
